Pros

- Sometimes get free product - The day-to-day teams, especially the managers, are hardworking, talented, and truly care about their work.

Cons

- Speaking up about issues is often discouraged and labeled as being “negative.” - The removal of the commission structure was extremely demotivating, especially in an industry where commission is standard and expected. - Limited transparency and communication from top leadership about important changes. - High turnover and low morale across many teams.

Pros

-Fun industry: working with fun/trendy brands and influencers -Brand partners will sometimes send free products to Trend & Talent Managers -Clients: I became best friends with most of my talent- grateful for the lasting friendships despite my less than ideal time with Trend

Cons

-After leaving Trend, they refused to pay out my remaining earned commission and still owe me around $6k. -Over-worked: During my time at trend I was incredibly overworked. On average throughout the year, I was working 12-15 hours days and still felt I couldn’t keep up with my workload. During busy season (most of Q4), we had to work insane hours to keep up and are “on call” just about 24/7. When I came to management with this issue, I was brushed off. I asked several times what was needed in order to get a talent coordinator on my team for help and was never given an answer. When push finally came to shove, and I wasn’t able to answer emails as quickly as management wanted (this expectation was never clearly communicated to employees by the way), management pointed a finger at me instead of asking how they could help. Truly the worst ELT I’ve ever had the displeasure to work under. -Under-paid: Don’t except to ever get a decent raise here. The company touted record revenue growth month after month and only gave 3-5% raises at most which didn’t even keep up with inflation. I presented my case to Trend for a raise after I quadrupled my team’s net-to-Trend revenue from year 1 to year 2 and was again brushed off and given a 4% raise. -Under-appreciated: ELT only cares about their bottom line and clients. Employees are an afterthought and that’s made clear by just about every decision from RTO mandates to outside hires (when there are more than qualified people in house).
