Pros

Fast growing company Interesting space/product Lots of very smart people Lovely founders

Cons

A lot of strong contributors and long serving employees are leaving the business overnight, with no notice or cause There is a gender diversity problem with deep roots. There are no women in the executive team. There is also problem in gender pay equity (this coming from a men). I've had a few conversations with my female counterparts, and this is glaring. The people team is reactive. They are more focused on appearances rather than tackling the underlying cause of problems. They always have an excuse when constructive feedback is share.

Hi there. I'm disappointed to hear about your experience so far, and I’d love to work together to see if we can change it into a positive one. We acknowledge that there is always room for improvement at TrueLayer. Getting feedback from our team is extremely important and one of the fastest ways we can identify and rectify issues. If you feel comfortable, I'd love to speak directly about your experience and where you think TrueLayer can improve. You can reach out to me, someone in the People team or the leadership team any time to chat. We are working hard to address issues relating to gender diversity at TrueLayer and I know a member of the People team or a member of our Women’s Employee Resource Group would be happy to discuss this in more detail. Pros

Free lunches and snacks, wellbeing days

Cons

Exclusionary and Unfriendly Culture: The workplace is incredibly "cliquey" and openly unwelcoming to new joiners. Instead of an inclusive team environment, it feels like an insular high school where outsiders are isolated rather than supported. Zero Work-Life Balance: There is an unwritten expectation to be available 24/7. Management has absolutely no respect for employees' personal lives, family commitments, or boundaries outside of standard working hours. Bizarre Executive Priorities: Leadership is deeply out of touch. There is a strange, almost obsessive focus on trivial, subservient tasks—such as ensuring a daily lunch delivery to the CEO—rather than focusing on actual business strategy or employee well-being. Lack of Recognition: Burnout is rampant because hard work goes entirely unnoticed and unappreciated. Management shows zero understanding or empathy for how hard the staff is grinding to keep things afloat.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're genuinely sorry to hear that this was how you felt during your time with us. Creating an environment where people feel welcomed, supported and able to do their best work is something we care deeply about. It's disappointing to hear that this wasn't how you experienced TrueLayer. While many of our current and former employees describe our culture positively, we know that everyone's experience is different, and feedback like yours is important for us to reflect on. We also take concerns around work-life balance, recognition and leadership seriously. We want our people to feel valued for their contribution and supported both professionally and personally, and we're sorry that you left feeling otherwise. We appreciate you sharing your perspective, and if you're open to it, we'd welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly to better understand your experience and learn from it. Please feel free to reach out to our People team at people@truelayer.com if you'd be willing to have a conversation. We sincerely wish you all the best for the future and thank you again for taking the time to provide your feedback.
