Pros

A car park, onsite restaurant, some friendly and helpful colleagues

Cons

The overall culture, the management - especially the executive and CEO, the lack of trust in employees, the blame culture, the lack of identity of brand and who UCAS is and on top of these things, they don't value staff at all. An organisation that lacks inspiration and a clear business plan - is it a charity, is it there for students, is it there to do as the government say?? Who knows. It's trying to be too many things which simply doesn't work.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write your review and we’re sorry to hear that your experience of working at UCAS doesn’t match the experience that we’re trying to build here. We’ve set ourselves some ambitious goals as far as working at UCAS goes and whilst none are out of our reach, it’s helpful to know where we need to do some more work. Hopefully the improvements we’ve made to our absence processes recently goes someway to addressing your concerns. We really value all feedback and your comments will be taken on-board. We notice your review says that you are still a UCAS employee and so we’d encourage you to reach out to your HR Business Partner or another member of Organisation Development if you’d like to discuss your feedback personally. Many thanks again.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We would be interested to know what team you’re in as UCAS is a UK-based company and we do not have employees outside of the UK. We have a flexible working policy which means we have part time and full-time roles, and we also use .NET, rather than net core as it is old technology. We also benchmark against the UK market, ensuring we remain competitive and transparent. Our other generous benefits such as 30 days holidays (plus 3 days concessionary at Christmas), and 35-hour work weeks are also part of our total reward. If you do have any further thoughts please let us know at careers@ucas.ac.uk. Elaine Chandler, Chief People Officer

Pros

Beautiful building for a not for profit

Cons

No real sense of direction or accountability. Arguably it should be merged as overheads too high for the benefit. Good employer for the area though.
