Pros

Uniforms look good. Owner personally conducts orientation training for most. Supervisors can be contacted 24x7. There are a lot of good words, and encouraging speeches. Additional training is sometimes offered.

Cons

No benefits, and despite what you are told (many other companies do offer benefits.) Company has not grown significantly in years. Zero promotion potential. You are supposed to be "on call" and subject to cover any and every post, every other week... more like any and all times you are expected to be available. If you are not available when called, you are disciplined---written up and/or suspended. You are not expected to have a home life. Supposedly you are "renting" the uniforms from the company, even though you get them not from the company but from a uniform store. You pay full purchase price for uniforms when you start, and then the owner "requires" you to return them to the company when you leave. A one man company, there is no HR, account manager, payroll dept, ethics violation contact person...ect You are at the mercy of the owner "branch manager". There is supposed to be an "open door" policy; however, if any sort of complaint is made you become the hunted, and once the owner has you in his sights, it's a done deal. May be a good place for a 1st job, but if you are looking for growth, development, ethical treatment...ect Do yourself a favor and keep looking.

Pros

I came across the previous review and felt obligated to say something. This company (and I've worked for several) actually has some of the highest standards and the best training that I've seen in this industry. The Owner runs a no-nonsense kind of company. Strict rules for employees, but, again, that's his standards. Not sure what the other person was saying about rules always changing. Rule book hasn't changed in more than 2 years. I can't really speak on drama - seems like there's some of that, everywhere you go. The owner SENDS "THANK-YOU" CARDS out to his employees, telling them he appreciates them. WHO DOES THAT?? Never had that anywhere else! Mr. Skinner, the owner, has AWESOME vision and knows what he's doing. Refreshing change from where I'm from.

Cons

Not a big company, and you're subject to being called, when you're off. But, this is all covered, in advance, in orientation, before we're hired. We know it going in. And, employees are only subject to being called, only on their off-days, every-other-week. They provide a on-call-roster. Pretty fair. Other companies I worked for just called you, anytime, all the time.
