Pros

I have been working for UpEffect for 6 months as a freelance Virtual Assistant, in the role of Administrative Assistant. My role has consisted of helping with some diary management and general admin tasks and mainly has focussed on creating and posting Social Media posts for the Re-envision Business podcasts that UpEffect does monthly. UpEffect is great to work for and has great passion for the social entrepreneur clients and their projects that they help get funding for and promote with their podcasts. As I've been working on promoting these podcasts, it has been really interesting for me to hear about some amazing projects around the world that UpEffect supports. This has made my work varied and informative. The Founder of UpEffect is very organised and has great vision. She gives good guidance in what she wants and needs from a task and is always willing to make sure the instructions are understood. I enjoy working with her and with her fascinating company that is doing a lot of good for society around the globe. I recommend UpEffect as a good employer.

Cons

I have no cons to add for working for UpEffect.

Pros

I volunteered at UpEffect before starting graduate school last year as I wanted to learn more about social enterprises and their impact. UpEffect was a great place to do this, both in terms of the exposure and the work culture. I found Sheeza (UpEffect, CEO) to be very approachable and a great manager. She gave me responsibility from Day 1 in client calls, blog posts and meeting target deliverables. She also invested signficant time in bringing me up to speed with the various platforms used by the business (that I was not familiar with coming from the corporate world) and gave me great insight into the business model. I also really appreciated Sheeza's regular feedback and check-ins. It was a real pleasure to work for her and I hope to see UpEffect evolving from strength to strength. Overall, I recommend UpEffect as a highly professionally-run start-up, with a great culture and flexibility to work remotely and to engage with social enterprises that have a meaningful impact. -- Chantal

Cons

Downsides of working remotely can be the people contact, particularly when you are looking to learn as must as possible.

Pros

Sheeza, founder of UpEffect is one of the most ethical people to work with. She is on a mission to create a positive impact in the business sector in London. At UpEffect, I saw and felt a genuine care for all team members and their work-life balance. As a new mother, I was given the flexibility and support to work remotely while being able to contribute at a managerial level. I left the company after learning a great deal about social impact businesses, crowdfunding and ethical practices and landed another great opportunity with Sheeza’s support and positive review.

Cons

Just like all startups, the members often do more than what their job title requires. Rehaab Daud Prvioud UpEffect employee Currently - Head of Marketing at DivInc Founder at Pehhchaan
