Design internship - Design Urban Influence Employee Review

Pros

Lots of responsibility given right away, you’re a real employee and member of the team, not just a coffee girl! Lots of room for creative exploration, strong guidance and feedback from mentors, great exposure to real industry clients and professionals.

Cons

Honestly I can say there are real cons, it all depends on your personality and how you work best. It is a small team, and that was great for me, but if you’re more interested in a traditional type office setting, it might not be for you. I personally loved getting to know everyone so well and being able to talk so much with all of my mentors.

Pros

Having a voice. Ability to truly own projects and help to guide the Company's overall direction. The team is very tight knit and everyone is awesome at what they do. Work is exciting. Your folio will blow up with high-profile, best-in-show work. Strategy drives everything, so meaningful design is the lay of the land. The office is really an inspiring space, right in the heart of CapHill.

Cons

If you're not able to self direct and get your work done without constant micromanaging, this is probably not the place for you. If you're looking for just a clock in, clock out job, this is probably not the place for you. Employees are expected to get their work done, meet deadlines and produce great work. It's an agency after all. People always say they want autonomy. But not everyone can really handle it.
