Pros

A great organization making a difference to Austin-area youth and hunger relief organizations.

Cons

A small nonprofit requiring staff to where many hats. It’s not necessarily a con though. If you’re flexible and open to a broader job description, it’s a great org to work for.

Pros

Coworkers are nice and supportive

Cons

Zero support or training from upper management. You are expected to teach yourself how to do the job and dive into the deep end right away. Zero work life balance. The former Executive Director expected you to give up your whole life to this organization and would fire people who set boundaries at work. They offer fresh produce instead of health insurance for non-salaried employees. Extremely high turn over rate so there aren’t any processes set in place for anything. They intentionally hire people who are under qualified to work in the office so that they can pay them below market rate for their positions. They preach diversity and inclusion but that’s not reflected in their staffing at all. There are zero growth opportunities even though they say that there are.
