Pros
The breadth of projects you get to be involved with is a great learning experience. A broad range from small advice pieces to large scale state significant developments is what you are exposed to as a consultant planner. You can luck out and get great managers who advocate for you and your career progression. At the same time, there are less suitable people in managerial positions as well (knowing that this is common across all businesses). Company culture has been up and down over the years but overall they do try to provide perks such as team events and Friday night drinks on the regular.
Cons
Some senior staff have the expectation that you have to do overtime to get a leg up in the business. The pay for Consultant and Senior Consultant level staff is not at industry standard and the company bleeds junior staff because of it. Also noting that the bonus structure is terrible as you don't really have control over a significant portion of it as it is tied to business unit performance not individual performance. If you stick it out there would be great career opportunities but they like to dangle the carrot on the stick to get you to stay with no real guarantee of promotion.
