Pros

I’ve been here for only a brief bout of time, but I would say it’s the healthiest work environment I’ve had the honor to work at. All coworkers are immensely friendly and willing to lend a hand. Communication with executive and director level individuals is as straightforward as popping into their office. 100% would recommend working here.

Cons

No complaints to be had.

Pros

1) UTC RETAIL has an excellent benefits package. Their health care is top notch. For example, you do not need to get a referral to see a specialist and their copays are the lowest I've ever had for any employer's insurance package. 2) The CEO is top notch. He is a very personable guy and has a true open door policy. He holds several meetings a year to make sure everyone is up to speed on what is going on in the company. He knows everyone by name and will not hesitate to strike up a conversation when he sees you. 3) Compensation is competitive in most locations. Some positions could probably be compensated better but overall most salaries are in line with what other companies are paying in the area. 4) UtC RETAIL has been profitable for many years in a row and does not show any signs of that trend changing.

Cons

1) Some of the middle management positions are less capable and are unaware of the quality of work their employees are doing or are capable of doing. 2) Feedback is something you often have to take the initiative to get. Some of the middle managers do better than others at this so it is a little hit or miss. UTC RETAIL has scheduled review dates that are supposed to be followed but new employees may be skipped. 3) They have several smaller offices around the country. Communications between these remote offices is often lacking. Different groups are often oblivious to what is going on in other groups.
