Pros
The customer service team are amazing! The mash-up of different people coming together all remotely is special. It feels like you're in a gem mine :) The whole VALR team is great and has wonderful personalities! The CEO is a person of absolute GOLD whose fundamentals are inspiring. Your office set-up is really well taken care of - you're given everything you could possibly think of, and you're allocated a stipend for your learning allowance, too! Once a month, there are meetups, and swag is often given.
Cons
Unfortunately, my experience here outweighs the pros. If you're seeking an opportunity for career growth, VALR is not the place for you(Can only speak for customer service team). The Head of Customer Service tends to have favourites and often speaks ill of others during 'intimate' meetings. Often also favours those who only do things to their liking. Head of customer success has a 'naughty list' and we were often treated like a bunch of kids in creche! Expected to be behind your computer at all times with a pungent stench of micromanagement. Growth here is vertical (not in a good way). The rotational shifts are gruelling and often changing. Have been personally attacked by a manager while other employees were present. This took the cake!! HR only is there to protect the company, not so much the employee.
