Pros

Some decent and talented employees. Many however are looking for new jobs. Used to be a great work environment however repeated lay offs have made the culture toxic.

Cons

Senior management doesn't know what it's doing. Each quarter of disappointing results leads to more lay offs. Job insecurity has led to talented engineers leaving for other companies. The company is now in a death spiral. Senior management is wasting shareholders money on acquiring companies they haven't a clue how to integrate with the rest of the business. Kana acquisition was a disaster.

Pros

The work itself was interesting and the team I worked with was talented and genuinely collaborative. Before the private equity acquisition, there was a sense that leadership cared about employees and the product roadmap had real vision.

Cons

The private equity acquisition fundamentally changed the culture and employee treatment. The layoff experience was one of the most disrespectful I have ever witnessed in a professional setting. An email arrived at 11pm the night before from an unfamiliar email address announcing a “company update” meeting scheduled for 7am the following morning. The email was so unusual that I initially reported it as a phishing attempt. The next morning, approximately one third of the company was laid off simultaneously with no meaningful notice, no personal communication, and no dignity extended to people who had given years of service. This is what happens when private equity prioritizes extraction over people.
