Pros

No company is perfect but I had great development opportunities and great mentorship In our department we can openly talk about ideas and improvement and it will be valued Some of the HR partner especially those in L&D are great! Great if you have a family- loads of flexibility (hybrid working, and flexible timing)

Cons

Ambiguity in communication can be felt sometimes Climbing the job ladder is hard and unclear

Thank you for your review. We’re so pleased that you’ve benefited from personal development, mentorship, continuous improvement and support from HR, whilst at Victrex. It’s also great to hear your thoughts on our flexible working, which so many of our employees benefit from. We always aim to be as clear as we can in our communications but recognise that we’re not perfect – as you say. However, we always try to listen, learn and improve, as part of our ‘continuously improving’ core behaviour. In terms of career progression, we’ve introduced a number of things in recent years to support this – from transparent job families, job levels and access to all role profiles, through to detailed technical competency frameworks by role and team/function. These, alongside our core behaviour and leadership competency frameworks, and internally-advertised job opportunities, all help to support career progression and allow employees to see the expectations of roles that they may not have previously considered. only one I can think of is the HSA contribution

Cons

Top heavy, micro managers that do not coach or invest in their players. Look at turn over at Invibio last 2 years. Where there is smoke there's a fire!

Thank you for your review, and for sharing your view, particularly in relation to our HSA contributions for the health plan in the USA. It’s disappointing to hear your personal views, which are different to others' experience across Victrex and Invibio. Our highest scoring question in our 2024 Employee Experience Survey was in response to ‘I have a good relationship with my line manager’ at 84%, following an impressive 91% company-wide response rate. We acknowledge that there will be pockets where relationships may be different, and we always look to support line managers to develop their teams, and encourage individuals to seek support from their HR Partner if need be, we sincerely hope you did this whilst employed with us. We signal to all employees the standards we expect through our leadership competencies and core behaviours in place (including ‘continuously improving’). These form part of our regular performance feedback, check-ins and reviews. Finally, in relation to your last point about unconscious bias, we regularly run sessions for employees at every level, specifically targeted at helping people to understand, be aware of, and avoid unconscious bias. We’ve received positive feedback about these events, which we’ll continue to run. We’ve also established several global, employee-led Resource Groups covering race, ethnicity and cultural heritage, gender and disability, to increase allyship and awareness through targeted education and action.
