Pros

During project calls, leader tends to dominate the conversation, speaking continuously for hours without providing clear direction. This creates a frustrating environment where employees are expected to endure long, unfocused monologues. Questioning or seeking clarification is discouraged, and those who do so risk being sidelined. When it comes time to present your own work, you're given just couple of minutes to make your case—this brief window is your only real opportunity to demonstrate your value. You can still confide in the abilities of the founder and also with his knowledge and experience. He stands out to be a valuable person in this sector and only hope in the company to learn from.

Cons

It’s essential to understand the dynamics within this organization before committing. Roles are often unclear, and there is a noticeable absence of a structured feedback mechanism. Job security here is not necessarily tied to performance, as there are no clear metrics for evaluation. Decisions regarding employment may sometimes appear arbitrary, influenced by personal preferences rather than objective standards, which can lead to inefficiencies and wasted resources. A particular challenge is that during project calls, leader tends to dominate the conversation, speaking continuously for hours without providing clear direction. This creates a frustrating environment where employees are expected to endure long, unfocused monologues. Questioning or seeking clarification is discouraged, and those who do so risk being sidelined. When it comes time to present your own work, you're given couple of minutes to make your case—this brief window is your only real opportunity to demonstrate your value. High employee turnover further contributes to a lack of continuity. Instead of investing in retention and growth, there’s a tendency to frequently replace staff, which disrupts the company’s ability to adapt and evolve. Success within this organization seems less about your skillset and more about navigating office politics. Progress often depends on adhering to leadership's preferences, resulting in limited professional development. Attempts to innovate or question the status quo may be met with resistance, and those who challenge leadership risk being sidelined. Responsibility is rarely shared. When things go well, leadership often takes credit; when issues arise, blame is passed to middle management or junior staff. Constructive feedback and opportunities for growth are rarely provided, and the environment can feel more like a space for maintaining control than fostering talent. Personal boundaries may also blur, with leadership sometimes using personal information to further their own objectives. Additionally, the appraisal system is not always transparent, and there have been instances where salary payments are delayed or withheld. For those considering joining, it is advisable to see this as a short-term opportunity. While it may be possible to align with leadership’s expectations to get by, doing so often requires compromising on autonomy and professional growth. This environment may not be conducive to those seeking long-term career development or mutual respect. Final Advice: If professional growth, accountability, and respect are priorities for you, it’s important to carefully consider whether this organization aligns with your values and goals.

Pros

Opportunity to learn and take on new challenges. On ground exposure in program design and implementation

Cons

1. Senior management is caught up in personal politics, gossip and ego battles leading to lack of reliable leadership 2. The CEO is not suited to run an organisation devoted to public health or anything to do with social development. He lacks basic empathy and self awareness and is more keen on making money than actually making a difference in people’s lives. 3. There is no functional HR team. Harassment of all kinds is rampant in the organisation with nobody to keep a check or call people out. This is a dangerous place to work in, especially for young people. 4. The organisation does not have any sort of code of ethics when it comes to hiring, firing or paying employees fairly. They find ways to cut corners by cheating people out of their money.
