Pros

•Systems in place •Polite peers •Interview process was seamless •They hired me even when I was new to the agency setting.

Cons

•The team grew too fast and it was easy to get lost in the crowd. The only time you spoke to HR was in the beginning but with all the new management coming in HR didn’t check in with the new employees at all. •The PIP was an excuse for new management to fire me instead of actually encouraging my improvement! I was set up to fail especially with the lack of organization for the web projects I was given. •My new manager Matt was a friend of the team manager Amanda (who was also only hired 3 months prior to him joining the team) so there was favoritism from the start. My new manager fired me and he didn’t even get past his 3 month probationary period. •Checked in with my peer project manager and she said I was doing great until HR and my BRAND NEW MANAGER who was still in training fired me. •HR did not check on me ONCE and I extremely disappointed. I valued this opportunity but it didn’t value me back with a safe space. Shame on you Stephanie! She didn’t once hand me the PIP she just popped in to help fire me.

Pros

I worked with some incredible colleagues across departments, whom I was very lucky to work with and learn from. Flexible work arrangements made it easier to balance personal and professional responsibilities. Compensation was fair for me personally. Clients were typically kind, and the work was always interesting and fun to be a part of.

Cons

Micromanagement was common, with a lack of clarity on what the standard process was, as everyone did things a little bit differently. VisionPoint also focused on being feedback-oriented, but typically, feedback conversations were more negative, only focusing on what one was doing wrong rather than providing developmental support. Management regularly asks for escalations on other employees as well, which just creates an anxious environment where most are afraid of making a mistake and feeling like they can't trust others. While some employees were given flexibility and trust, others were held to different standards, which created an uneven and discouraging environment. It became clear very early on in my time at VP that favoritism was given. I had a handful of experiences where management and leadership talked poorly about other employees. I was very disappointed in this. VP recently laid off many across the company.
