Pros

-Almost entirely women work here -Leave work at 1pm on Fridays (work longer Monday-Thursday to compensate) -Great, convenient location in downtown Chicago -Most employees are great

Cons

-Socialization with fellow employees discouraged -Feels corporate for a nonprofit -There is petty drama among some employees (not most, but a few) -Management is mostly older (55+) and set in their ways, not open to new ideas and not very supportive of younger employees -There are a few employees (mostly upper management) who are very difficult to work with. Happiness with a job here largely depends on where you are within the organization.

Pros

Mission-driven organization. Fairly well structured for a non-profit. Autonomy to create new initiatives. Highly attuned to DEI even if it’s scrubbed from the website.

Cons

Culture micro-managed by CEO with dated ideas and values. No real HR department or employee relations focus - HR is the CEOs lapdog. Pay is horrible. Very limited advancement opportunities.
