      Pros

      Channel 5 on your resume Get to meet the anchors and reporters on TV Usually allowed to go out with a reporter one time during your internship, but only once can sit in the studio to watch newscasts

      Cons

      Aren't allowed to touch majority of the equipment because of union laws Hardly anybody takes an interest in you Given no real work to do, very minimal learning experience Unpaid Unfriendly, unhappy work environment

      hands-on experience, writing script for braodcast, get to have bylined articles submitted to digital media platform, get to go out on the field, and participate in newsroom meetings

      not paid (but still worth the experience!)
