Pros

Brand recognition and resume value Some smart, hardworking individual contributors Decent compensation (on paper & the stock market)

Cons

Parts of the organization suffer from deep, systemic cultural problems that leadership either ignores or actively perpetuates. Workplace bullying is normalized, particularly toward employees who are not part of the dominant in-group. Talented employees are routinely overlooked for promotions while others "in the loop" are fast-tracked upward. Advancement is less about performance and more about proximity to power, optics, and loyalty to the “right” people. The environment feels like a constant political chess game. Success often depends on sucking up to senior leaders who are visibly disconnected from the actual work. Many higher-ups lack operational understanding yet make sweeping decisions with ripple effects across the business and staff. Management quality is extremely inconsistent, skewing poor. Some managers demand strict in-office presence while quietly working remotely themselves, creating a culture of hypocrisy and mistrust. Expectations change based on who you are rather than what you produce. There is also a noticeable pattern of management ignoring or dismissing employees, treating their contributions as invisible or expendable. Trust among coworkers is low. There were instances of colleagues snooping into others’ communications, impersonating teammates to gain information, and undermining peers to get ahead. Project theft occurred with management batting a blind eye. Overall, beware when joining certain orgs, as some are not psychologically safe. If you value integrity, equity, and being recognized for your actual contributions, proceed with caution.
