Pros

Flexible hours. High degree of autonomy, no micromanagement. Large audience so it's easy to have a big impact. Laid-back team, easy to work with.

Cons

Content is focused just on business and finance and investing so maybe not as good of a fit for people who aren't interested in these topics.

Pros

Very smart team. Everyone is genuinely fun to work with and we usually do lunch together and get together socially outside the office. Laid-back atmosphere, causal attire. Ideas and suggestions are taken seriously from even entry-level hires. On most decisions, everyone involved gets a vote. Plenty of opportunities to get involved in whichever projects interest you.

Cons

Internet-based so the technology changes fast and we're sometimes in catch-up mode. Small company so everyone has to juggle several responsibilities and sometimes the lines aren't clear. Also we do a lot of experimenting and not everything succeeds.

Pros

Very analytical, numbers-based culture. Management relatively open to new ideas, providing you can back up your idea with data. If you can't, you'll have to run a small-scale test to gather sample data.

Cons

The websites run by WebFinance are based on a dying advertising-based business model. They run on a mish-mash of old technologies and need a new "big idea." The office itself is sparsely decorated and depressing. Management keeps proposing team-building events after-hours while the employees nervously shift and avert their eyes. In the course of a day there are many awkward-turtle moments.
