Pros

Team members were polite and professional.

Cons

Poor compensation (30-50% below market for remote us-based startup). Supervisors + middle management made indications for compensation increases (to market rate), but never delivered. Title change from Senior -> Lead resulted in less than 5% increase in salary, plus disqualification from merit bonus for entire calendar year. Poor communication and ownership of cross-team work. Many colleagues had been through one or more acquisitions already, and did not seem to enjoy working there. Very little direct manager support to tackle challenges, but lots of complaining from them about other teams and individuals by name. Middle management poor at screening talent, and technical interviews were scripted and onerous (5+ rounds for some well-qualified applicants to individual contributor roles). A defunct, immature organization, which seems to be relying on buying competition instead of delivering a competitive product.

Pros

WebMD Ignite is in the middle of a real transformation and it is an exciting time to be here. Leadership has set a clear vision for being an AI-native company. There is a lot of cross—functional collaboration, transparency and OneIgnite teamwork.

Cons

It is a face-paced environment with high expectations. Communication is improving but still catching up with how quickly the company is scaling.

Pros

The work has a meaningful positive impact on healthcare outcomes. There are interesting and challenging problems to solve.

Cons

WebMD and a collection of healthcare marketing companies comprising Ignite have been assembled under the Internet Brands Corporation. Senior management is aloof, stingy, and ham-fisted. The workforce has been reduced by attrition as many people have left in recent years.
