Pros

You get something to put on your resume. (Highly recommend you do this elsewhere).

Cons

I hadn't seen full-force misogyny in real life until I worked here. It was like stepping into the 1950's time portal with a level of racism and old-boy mentality running rampant. If this is the kind of "family" to expect at a family-owned company...I recommend running immediately. The terrible thing is...it's a well-oiled machine when it comes keeping employees in check should they "step out of line" by speaking up for themselves. It happens in such a covert and mentally draining/warped way that most of the creative people I knew working there were depressed and felt trapped. I don't think many people knew why they felt that way, but as person who is very aware of context(in this case, an environment that strongly disliked its people of color, women and lgbtq community. I literally heard a manager say behind doors he thought were closed that he was glad he missed that "mess" of the gay pride parade as he was on vacation. Unfortanutely racism is more palpable in a way that you have to be there to see. Isn't that often the case these days). I eventually snapped out of it and realized what was going on for them and for myself. it is a very scary place. I highly highly highly recommend you consider working in a place where you're seen as a person and not a diversity commodity. Where you will receive proper mentorship (I had a white male colleague tell me a story of mentorship he received. I attempted to seek the same out for myself from the same manager and was met with a "you're expecting too much" kind of attitude and continued to flounder for support. The unfortunate side effect of being in an environment like this, is you will rarely find someone who looks like you who is just as aware as you are. I sought the kind of support the company gave to white men of all ages and those with seniority at the company. I was met with "my my my...you're ambitious aren't you."

Pros

- Pretty chill laid back company with okay benefits. - Safe, stable company to work for. - Company provides the right tools to get the job done.

Cons

- Really wish Weigel didn't go through United Health Care for insurance. - Higher ups in HR are rude, not helpful, and unapproachable. - Higher ups in the company don't really want original content. They want to keep reusing already successful content. They do not want to take creative risks.
