Unrealistic deadlines exert untold stress on teams.
Lack of foresight due to being constantly rushed by the CEO and senior management happens a lot on projects with common sense problems not considered until the last minute. Then everyone blames each other because everyone is under untold pressure to get something over the line.
Often there is no capacity in teams and then a huge project is landed by the CEO. A personal example is turning something around in 7 working days.
A lot of extremely promising talent with years of experience has left head office the last couple of years. Rather than investing and rewarding the staff that they have, they seem to be constantly chasing expansion without the team infrastructures there to cope. It leads to a very toxic work environment.
