Pros

I'll start with the good. I worked at WidgetBrain as an intern in the summer of 2017. The first project I worked on was interesting and an accurate description of what I was told I would be working on. After handing in my deliverable for the first assignment, I spent the second half of my contract working on various side projects. If you had asked me to rate the company based on the first month, I would have probably said 4 or 5 stars. The work in the second half wasn't nearly quite as interesting, so overall I'd say three stars is fair.

Cons

I am a bit disappointed with what transpired after my contract was up. There were hints that there might be some part-time work available during the school year - this was a discussion point before I even started working there. I was excited as I had been working for free and was anxious to finally earn some money, not to mention continue the project I had been working on. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, things didn't quite work out and they decided to hire full-timers instead.

Pros

-Great team: Everyone cares about their coworkers and the work that we are doing -Autonomy: I have creative control over my content creation tasks and feel responsible (and proud) for the work that is shared -Flexibility: There is never a dull day; I flow from project to project as needed, able to switch when possible -Great culture

Cons

-There's a learning curve, which is longer without a tech (IoT, Industry 4.0, AI) background. The first few weeks were spent learning by doing, a lot of reading, and asking questions, but provided a strong base knowledge for the work that is currently being done.
