Pros

Aside from the founders, the rest of the team were lovely.

Cons

Usually I would stay silent but the narratives, lies that Wonsulting are being pushed forward to increase engagement and revenue are starting to bother me. Issue #1 Visage What started as a mission to help underdogs (students/people who graduated from non-prestigious schools/ have non-traditional backgrounds), quickly turned into a greedy money grab while still using this “we want to be altruistic and improve equity” narrative. Behind the scenes, it’s whatever brings in the money (whatever Wonsulting is willing to accept, helping people is no longer a priority). Issue #2 Cost/False exclusivity “Discounts” imho aren’t really discounts. Think about this - the founds of Wonsulting have no real HR experience/behind-the-scenes industry knowledge and most of the information can be found online/with a bit of patience/research. The only difference is the packaging - they took whatever knowledge they have (proven successful or not), and tidied it up into one place. Then they severely overcharge. Some well-designed Udemy courses go on sale for less than $15 dollars but their courses go for $70+ (sale price). Were they able to help some people? I’m sure they have but I can’t speak for the majority who purchased one of their courses/services. It’s basically Kylie Lip Kits… but for job search. The Wonsulting online community (FB Group) is useless too. Issue #3 Lies/Business Model/Treatment of Employees You know that Forbes article that boast about Wonsulting and “maintaining a full-time staff of 18”. BS. A direct source can confirm about 3 of them are potentially full-time but the rest are interns. During my time there, you get paid based off of your status/contribution to the company $100/m, $300/m, $500/m. Interns work about 10hrs/week (or “whatever you feel like” to get the job done) and get paid $100/m. If the project you’re working on (potentially) brings in thousand (or some cases tens of thousands), you can boost your status up to lead which will make about $300/$500 a month. Insane looking back bc the hours to get to that status pushed our hourly rates BELOW minimum wage. Obviously, no healthcare, PTO, or anything like that (bc again, we aren’t FTE and neither is the majority of the current team). The founders have made some full-time offers to a few leads - from what I hear, the offer is below industry standards and in some cases lower than what the employee is currently making at a different company. Lowballing a person with industry experience who was doing this as a side hustle, wow! Also, Wonsulting does not respect boundaries. A founder milked us for all the free time we had. When trying to set boundaries for what we were willing to do (and when), he continued to push and add pressure. Why? Bc he is money/status hungry. I mean if you wanted us to work more maybe try paying us more? They also didn’t pay me for the last month I worked there but I can’t say I’m surprised. They're hypocrites. They can treat their employees the way they do and still have the balls to write about injustice on TikTok. #4 The Founders There isn’t much I can say about original founder other than his heart was in the right place when he started Wonsulting but he didn’t necessarily have the brains or skillset to drive a business forward (fun fact: no one can really tell you why/how Wonsulting got its name). I’m thankful he helped me revive my resume but that’s about it. The other founder - this guy needs to go outside and touch some grass. He thrives off of power/status - likes, followers, money brings sparkles to his eyes and he will (and has done) whatever it took to get here (overstepping and crossing boundaries). I’m not going to dive too deep into this, other than he needs therapy and to stop exploiting people. TLDR: Should you work for Wonsulting? No. Should you buy a service/course/product from Wonsulting? Also no.

Pros

- Freedom to set your own hours Your work hours are pretty flexible all things considered. I know people on the sales team need to take calls during normal business hours, but other team members are able to schedule regular personal time, 2-hr blocks to go to the gym in the afternoon, things like that. - Fully remote There's literally no office and never was. The company was started remotely and just stayed that way. Leadership does off-sites and the co-founders live in NY, so that's probably considered the HQ. - Good pay Market rate pay with monthly performance based bonuses. We have sales people in the Philippines who have already bought several houses on their salaries. I can't buy a house in the US with this salary, but it is a fair salary nonetheless, and the monthly performance based bonuses are considerable (like 50-100%+ of your monthly salary). - Great benefits Company match 401K, excellent healthcare options. My dental work had a very low deductible and my dentist even commented that I have "very good insurance." PPO and HMO options for healthcare. That's a huge part of why I love working here. Also we get access to a bunch of streaming services for shows and movies. - Smart co-workers It's a startup, so we're all dynamic in what we do, what roles we take on, responsibilities etc. If you want a fast-paced, exciting environment without clear boundaries and hard rules for roles, this is a good place. Also it's nice to work with smart people who don't frustrate you. - Mission driven to help people Everyone at the company is working hard to help clients get jobs, and we celebrate every interview and job offer in a shared Slack channel. We keep getting better at it, improving our systems and approach, and it makes me happy to work for a company that helps job seekers instead of helping companies find employees. - Growth potential If you can generate more revenue than you cost, you can earn more and get a raise. I've also seen several college students and younger workers start here, gain rapid work experience, and leave for a higher paying job at a larger company. Overall I'm happy working here. I saw a previous employee leave a 1-star review and didn't think it was fair, so I wanted to share my experience here to offer another perspective.

Cons

I've worked at many companies, different industries, and this place is great. I'll list some things that might be bad for you depending on your style. - No massive budget We don't have major VC funding, so we don't have the huge budgets that many other startups have, but that can be a positive or a negative depending on how you look at it. - Difficult work A lot of work you do doesn't have a clear instructions manual, because you're making that as you go and testing, iterating, etc. This is not a negative for me, but could be for some. You can definitely find easier jobs with the same pay. - Super fast paced If you are a slow worker, or if it takes you time to get moving, this will be a major challenge. - Difficult clients If someone desperately needs a job, they can be quite impatient, which is fully understandable of course, but it can be difficult to deal with.

Pros

- work from home and flexible schedule

Cons

I worked here for 3 months as a career coach. They don’t pay regular salary- they pay on a “per client basis”. They claim to say that they approx “25-35 an hour” but if you calculate how much you get paid in consideration how much hours of work is required for each client, you’re maybe making 18-20 an hour. They also pay you as a 1099 so you have 0 benefits Didn’t really recieve any training or guidance. Lots of clients were mad about the quality of service and the information they were receiving was not worth what they paid (the packages range from 500-1500).
