Pros

Close knit group and world-class services. Great customer base with an extensive and respected history of brand loyalty.

Cons

Our designated point of contact following the acquisition has provided conflicting and ambiguous directives, causing confusion and frustration among the team. This individual lacks an understanding of our core competencies and has not shown a genuine interest in our organizational requirements to provide guidance, training, or follow through. Our operational inefficiencies have resulted in suboptimal outcomes because all are going in different directions, while our point of contact's reports appear to present a positive perception of his own performance.

Pros

WorkSTEPS used to be a wonderful place to work. They offered a very flexible schedule with superior work/life balance. The pay was a little low, but the flexibility w/r/t work/life balance made up for the low pay. It was a family-run company led by people who cared deeply for their employees, and it showed.

Cons

WorkSTEPS was acquired by Confluent Health in 2022/2023. WorkSTEPS was placed under the operational leadership of Fit For Work, another commercial company under the Confluent umbrella. Layoffs began in 2024 and more than half of the full-time positions at WorkSTEPS were eliminated. They were not replaced, and existing staff were expected to pick up the slack. There is zero stability at WorkSTEPS or Fit For Work. Everyone's job is a moment's notice from being eliminated. There are many more serious problems with workplace culture, office politics, resource allocation between WorkSTEPS and Fit For Work, etc. Those reasons are enough to choose not to work at either company. But at this time, the primary reason is that you might be looking for a new job three months after you accept a job at WorkSTEPS or Fit For Work.
