Pros

There are no positives for working under an owner who does not stay true to his word!

I am absolutely furious! After pouring my heart and soul into Xotic PC for nearly three years, this is how they repay me? Four weeks ago, I had a conversation with Justin Nolte, the owner, about adjusting my schedule to part-time so I could better care for my children. He seemed understanding, even expressed how valuable I was to the team and assured me that adjustments could be made. But what happened today? I got unceremoniously laid off! Justin hired someone new and tossed me aside like I meant nothing to this company! I was the top performer for months on end, and I have the numbers to back it up! I didn't quit; I simply asked for a reasonable adjustment out of respect for my family and loyalty to this company. Yet, what did Justin Nolte do? He showed his true colors and terminated my position at the first opportunity! We had an agreement for me to work 20 hours a week, but apparently, that meant nothing to him. This morning, I was told they didn't need me for the remainder of the week. When I dared to argue, to stand up for the agreement we made, what did I get? The boot! Xotic PC claims to value its employees, but it's all a facade! They cannot be trusted! They only care about themselves. If you ever dare to stand up for yourself, if you have the audacity to demand what's fair, they'll kick you to the curb without a second thought! I gave everything to this company, and this is what I get? Well, they've lost more than just an employee today; they've lost any semblance of loyalty or respect from me. And mark my words, I won't let this injustice go unanswered!

Pros

- Benefits (Health insurance, PTO, etc) - Respectful management - Rewarding work - Good work-life balance

Cons

There weren't any cons, really. The prebuild industry is in a tough spot at the moment so it could be slow at times, but working here was pretty much all positive.

Local small business doing big business worldwide Competitive wages Cutting edge products Family operated with MidWest values - Employees are treated like family Weekends off and Paid Holidays off Employee empowerment to help impact the direction of the company and procedures Relaxed dress code with company provided shirts Work directly with owner on daily basis - able to give feedback and suggestions right to the top at any given time

Cons

Lengthy tenure in departments means that sometimes there are less opportunities to move into different roles -lengthy tenure is not a bad problem to have though Insurance benefits can get expensive if trying to cover more than just yourself, but this is a problem all small businesses suffer from due to current insurance premiums
