- Appropriate first sales job
- Good earning potential with commission bonuses
- Lots of opportunity to build workplace friendships, inclusive environment
- Fun company events and incentives
- Good level of support from HR
Cons
- Not much progression at all (unless you want to move into management)
- A lot of micromanagement and individual pressure from higher-ups
- A lot of verbal encouragement to reach targets, very little praise or reward for achieving them
- Unprofessional and inexperienced management structure
- Heavy focus on firing and re-hiring opposed to training and support if individuals are not performing (rapid staff turnover in ALL departments)
- A lot of gossip and over-sharing of personal information
I would have been sacked for poor performance multiple times, had I not managed to beat the targets I was given. Despite consistently being one of the top performers in the company, I would repeatedly have my job dangled over my head and threatened into producing results.
Yo is a good place to start out your sales career but don't stay any longer than you need to. The pressure to perform and high expecations once you start doing well is not worth the money.
- welcoming team who want everyone to win!
- uncapped commission structure! I was making £5K+ most months!
- Monthly work activity/social events!
Cons
- Only one that I can think of which would be applicable for some people! Don’t expect to walk in and it to be easy! Takes determination and persistence but the rewards are most definitely worth it!
