Pros
Remote work - though they are wanting to return to office
Good leave and benefits
They hire lots of lovely smart people
Cons
Founders live on a different planet. They only keep and promote yes-men who never disagree with them. They think they are visionary but they just don't listen to anyone who disagrees with them, and what's worse, they squash or fire them.
I know of 10+ cases (in the last year) where they have essentially fired people without due process, by threatening them with a low performance rating and subsequent firing, after never having had a problem before, simply because they disagreed with them.
They have no leadership training, they do not try to fix any relationships, help improve performance, they just pay people enough to not go to the CCMA and terminate them.
The only way to survive an progress in this company is by joining the cult of blind loyalty. The problem is the company will not survive that, because yes-men just tell you what you want to hear and then you make long term bad decisions which result in two retrenchment rounds in two years and many dodgy terminations after that.
Many good people in the organisation stay longer than they want to simply because of good benefits and slow workload, because they struggle to find that elsewhere.
Do NOT join the data team. Many good people have been hurt here
