Pros

The newer staff is great. They are actually willing to help you if you need it.

Cons

Upper management is too busy to help anyone except themselves. Unless your last name is Yorke, there isn't a place here for you long term. If it is Yorke, you're probably on vacation. They are big on vacations for themselves, but not for everyone else. You are billable 40 hours a week. There is no overhead. You learn while the client is charged. It is common to hear from women that they work part time, which is closer to full time just without pay. This is so they can get everything done and have a life outside of Yorke. There is no such requirement for the men. Staff is so stressed and anxious. There is little to no interaction between the Yorke’s and the staff, unless you mess up. You have to go to the "voluntary" events that happen too often. How much of my time do you need? We don't need to spend all day together, (you in your office, me in my tiny cubicle so stressed that I barely leave my desk), and then go to happy hour. If you don't go to said " voluntary" event, you aren't part of the "team." They will grind you up and get rid of you. Notice all the other reviews that mention, "consulting isn't for everyone?" That means you if you're not a Yorke. The upoer management is too worried about the current owner's passing their business to the Yorke boys. They will run it into the ground. Run away. I'm stuck here. You don't have to be.

Pros

Yorke makes a point of allowing people to do what they love; over my years here, I've given feedback on the responsibilites that I enjoy, that I don't, and what projects I'd like to be involved it - and they've listened. My role has shifted more towards doing when I love. They place a high priority on company culture and work life balannce. They invest a lot in both fostering a community in the workplace and in individual professional development. I understand that community in the workplace isn't for everyone, but personally, I want to work in a place where I know and enjoy time with my coworkers. They have optional clubs, activities, happy hours, and sports to be involved in. 5 times/year they require staff to travel into the headquarters for meetings, but those are the only mandatory events. The daily hours/schedules are flexible, and they respect PTO/time outside of work hours. They pay very well.

Cons

Holidays and PTO are pretty limited. Other reviews complain about nepotism...yes, it is a family owned company, started 30 years ago by the current owner, but I have never see nepotism shown in a unfair/concerning way.

Pros

Good work experience, pay, and collogues

Cons

Filling out a timesheet can be tricky, fast paced, can sometimes be lacking in guidance, stingy with overhead, in need of more senior project management, infrequent holidays.
