I accepted a temporary role and even relocated for the job, only to be let go after just two weeks — without the chance to properly settle in or demonstrate my skills. From day one, I felt unwelcome by the team. I was excluded from conversations, made to feel like an outsider, and faced delays in accessing essential tools, which limited my ability to complete tasks. When I raised my concerns with my manager, they seemed supportive — only for HR to let me go two days later in a meeting where the manager wasn’t even present. The feedback given was that I didn’t have enough experience and wasn’t "senior enough." This was extremely disheartening, especially since my experience level was clear throughout the hiring process. I was never given actionable feedback, clear expectations, or even a fair chance to contribute.
