Pros

Great perks and benefits for small startup - free snacks, lunch, golf simulator in house for testing (or just practice). Great office location (the Los Gatos office). Great people overall and good US leadership in general. Good attempt at transparency. Good product overall, difficult customer proposition to execute (improve your game)

Cons

Hardware and Software teams located in China. Difficult to get everyone on the same page. Good product and marketing team in the US overall but hand cuffed a bit by China development direction. Re-Org changed everything

Pros

Everyone I spoke with during the interview process—from product to design—was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. The team seemed passionate about the work and genuinely collaborative. Conversations gave the impression of a smart, capable group solving meaningful problems.

Cons

The interview process was disorganized with no transparency, with unexpected additional rounds even after I was verbally told I had the offer. The recruiter emphasized urgency to accept, citing other candidates they are considering, which created unnecessary pressure. The initial offer was average for the Bay Area and lacked equity or sign-on bonus. After I shared context on local market rates, we agreed to a minor increase ($3K above the original base), with no additional stocks or sign on bonus. The recruiter said she would take my counter to leadership, then ghosted me for a week. I had to follow up to learn that leadership rejected the offer. Shortly after, I saw the same job reposted, raising concerns about transparency and the company’s hiring intent since this is a company based in China please be careful what you are sharing during interviews.
