Pros

The salary is comparable to other tech salaries. Remote-first company. Engineering team was once very admirable.

Cons

Community hired too many senior level executives who didn't have a clue where to take the company or how to strategically position the company in the SMS market. To this day, there are still many people on the payroll who I don't know what they do for the company, yet they they get paid handsomely to hop on a Zoom and monopolize all the time. Nepotism and favoritism are rampant. There was a complete lack of transparency in terms of fundraising and employee equity and the company laid off upwards of 25% and 30% of its staff multiple times during my tenure. The growth and revenue team are consistently given unattainable targets, the marketing team is a revolving door, and people just complain about other people on Slack all day. In terms of culture, the work-life balance was negatively affecting my mental health, but maybe they'll send you a candle or hat for your extra hours.

Pros

Customers for the most part find the platform very easy to use to send out SMS campaigns. Very impressive current customer base, across the sports and entertertainment verticals. Solid members on the engineering team.

Cons

Multiple failed attempts to move upmarket into the enterprise space. No clear understanding or vision on the proper pricing and fit for the platform. Lack of strong leadership and direction on the Senior Leadership Team. Long-tenured employees leaving esp from the sales and engineering team will lead to the unfortunate demise of the company .
