Pros

Good opportunity to work on large projects worldwide — is that enough though?

Cons

Culture: Due to its reputation and "the DBOX formula" (whatever that is), the company doesn’t have much to offer beyond a very poor and disappointing environment. There’s a high turnover of team members, and the DBOX formula doesn’t help improve this situation. Opportunities: Management operates as a closed circle, and winning their trust is difficult. As a result, advancing to a higher position over the years is very challenging, if not impossible. Work Environment: Your ideas and points of view are disregarded, and you have little to no creative value in the company. It’s a robot-like work environment. Management and partners expect you to be fully committed to the company, but they don’t offer the same in return. The company doesn’t support your development as an individual or help you progress in your career. Senior Management: At first, they may seem attentive, but over time, it becomes clear that communication is condescending, passive-aggressive, rude, and micromanaging. There’s a lack of people skills (a management course would certainly help), but why bother developing these when there’s always someone else to hire? Sometimes, it feels like you have to be a mind reader, as task allocation is poor. The senior management team are workaholics, which wouldn't be an issue if they didn’t expect the same from you. The mentality is that DBOX is your life — nothing else matters. Work/Life Balance: Balance? Forget it. Strict working hours, a meaningless break system, and inconsistent working days across studios. If you make concessions, those should be extended to all studios. The same goes for salaries. There’s lots of overtime, and it’s often unpaid. Pay: The wage system is unfair across studios. In some places, overtime is paid, but not in others. Recognition: Hard work is not appreciated, and it’s evident in annual reviews. They often excuse themselves by citing budget problems. Salary increases and bonuses are not guaranteed or mandatory. While it would be nice for employees to feel recognized and valued, this is rarely the case.

Pros

Great opportunity, company moving forward all your knowledge. Will meet a lot of talented artists around the world there.

Cons

Sometimes some of the projects take about a month to apply multiple corrections. Post-production takes sometimes half of the day.

Pros

Nice location if you enjoy walking.

Cons

One of the worst companies I ever worked for. You will not have set hours. You will be asked to do work outside of your job duties and will be told to come in early or leave late. No compensation. The team leaders are all partners in the company. Need to talk to HR? They’re also a partner in the company. They didn’t report my earnings correctly to the IRS, so that was a gift that kept on giving after I left. Take your chance, but be warned… don’t drink the kool-aide. Your interview will be great! But once they get you in, you are only there to increase your boss’s shares. You will be talked down to and embarrassed because it is an open floor plan and certain managers have no problem creating an unnecessary scolding without asking any questions first… and don’t expect an apology when you share all the details after they blow up…it was great fun.
