Pros
Well designed products, good company brand image, frequent appraisals, virtually unlimited overtime, plenty to learn about bespoke furniture and traditional manufacturing methods, hire graduates heavily so a good place to work for a short time after university
Cons
Highly cliquey atmosphere, at the detriment of those who do not fit into the unofficial mould of the company. Highly preferential treatment given to certain employees, quite obviously not based on performance. Total lack of any kind of HR department or grievance procedures. Renumeration definitely at the lower end, below national averages for similar positions. No bonus structure at all (for salaried employees) while the directors take home 6 or 7 figure amounts per annum - read the publicly available company accounts for proof. Upper management suffers from "big fish in a small pond" syndrome, running this large company like a small family business, with a single, patriarchal type figurehead at the helm.
