Cons

- Management does not work in the frontline operation; they manage from a top down style, versus bottom up. - Management (pardon the informality) talks out of both sides of their mouths, regarding strategy, policy and procedure. For example, the most important job responsibility is qualifying appointments, yet in the same breath they reprimand for not setting enough appointments - General understanding of business. This company does not understand the fundamentals of marketing, cash flow, strategy, and retention (customer/employee). among a myriad of others. - Does not follow standard code of ethics. To name a few examples: Management favors certain consultants and will push extra sales to those consultants, management advises to not disclose important information to customers and team leads publicly shame current and past employees for various reasons. - Call, email and text program has been described as harassment, by several clients... management does not care. Required to call customers on weekends at early hours and many times call them 3 times within an eight hour shift. - Management sends out emails, internally, asking employees to only post positive reviews on sites, such as this one, to up their reputation. - Company is sold as a "start-up, small business minded" company, in which involvement is appreciated and encouraged. This company is exactly the opposite. They are demanding, uneducated on current market trends, quick to replace and eager to defend their ignorance.

Pros

I really enjoy my role as a HIS here. You’re not just doing basic check-ins with customers; I’m doing the full scope of the job—hearing evaluations, fittings, fine-tunings, and follow-ups—all through telehealth. The technology we use is smooth, which makes it much easier to focus on the customer rather than the software. The company culture is great, too. It’s a very forward-thinking environment and doesn’t feel like a traditional, rigid clinic. It’s been rewarding to see how much we can actually accomplish for people’s hearing without them needing to leave their house. If you're into the innovative side of audiology, you'll definitely appreciate the way hear.com does things.

Cons

Since it’s all remote, you definitely spend a lot of time in front of a camera. You also have to be patient with customers who aren't super tech-savvy—sometimes you’re helping with WiFi or tech setup before you can get to the actual appointment.

Pros

Yearly summit parties in Miami. SOME good commission months. WFH if you're not in Denver or Miami. 75k your first year is to be expected. Year 2+ is pretty consistently around 90k-100k.

Cons

During my time at Hear.com, the sales team underwent THREE pay cuts. They used to pay $4,800 dollars in commission for 18 net hearing aid sales. As of now, that would only be around $400 in commission. Be prepared to physically speak on the phone for 5.5 hours per day. If you do not hit this metric every single day, the next day, they WILL punish you by having you talk to an AI bot for HOURS, repeating the same lines over and over again.
