Pros

Beautiful office in Downtown Coral Gables, FL, Telecommute opportunities, Making a difference in people's lives.

Cons

There is no room for growth unless you want to become a suprvisor which NO ONE wants to be. Be prepared to be over worked and under paid. The management will constantly stress you about meeting your numbers and goals but will do little to nothing to help you. They don't ever like to admit the part they play in low sales and goals not being met. There is ZERO lack of motivation from most team leads. They hate their jobs just as much as the agents. Good people have quit or been fired because management lacks the ability to see your worth. You are only as good as your last good month.Turn over is massive. Your job will be on the line and they will threaten to fire you every month if you don't meet your goal. If you have a family this is not the company for you. They have no concept of work/home life balance. They only want young sales people that don't really know their worth, want to party and have drinks with them after spending all day in the office and virtually make hear.com their life! They will promise you the world and feed you good leads in all territories while you are a rookie and then once you get put on a real team you will have to work all day everyday to meet the goals given to you unless you are one of the "favorite" agents that has a very "personal relationship" with one of the owners and basically gets fed sales at the end of every month. The leads are horrible. You will spend the majority of your time calling people that are on Medicaid or Medicare, a fixed income and can't afford hearing aids. And you will call the same leads every hour to the point of harrassement and potential buyers no longer wanting to deal with you because of harrassement. Constant anxiety on a daily basis trying to meet numbers as well as stay on top of accountings job, your supervisors job, the partner managers job, HR's job, Marketing's job, the partners manager's job and the shipping departments job. The whole process is unstructured and un coordinated. Everyone is all over the place and blames each other. No accountability is held. The partner providers generally don't like working with hear.com and will steal sales from you as much as they can with little to no repercussions. They make you sign a waiver stating they are not liable for any injury or incident up to including death if something happens to you on the job or at their event. And there in no workmans comp. Each month it goes further and further down the hill. We went from almost 70 gents to about 35 within the last 3 months so you do the math. Unpaid 12 weeks FMLA, 12 weeks paid FMLA for maternity leave only at 50%! Horrible. 10 sick days and then the rest are unpaid. And "unlimited vacation" that is based on performance. A 401K that they don't match and expensive health insurance. If you are a successful sales executive at the top of your game hear.com will be a downgrade to your career. Don't believe the hype. All of these amazing reviews you see on here are not the majority and are artificial. And if you try and use your voice they will deem you as "negative" and will put an X on your back.

hear.com Response

Thank you for the extensive review. We know it took valuable time to write this review and we appreciate all feedback, as this helps to improve the opportunity for others. Hear.com believes the employees are the heart and soul of our company and we are taking the steps to improve our employees experience every day. We do provide different roads into which each individual can develop, apart from becoming a supervisor. People can advance to truly shaping the future of hear.com in our innovation team or advance in sharing their knowledge with others as experts for modules and topics along the customer's journey. We are also excited to offer courses in Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint as well as TED talk discussions to further help everyone grow beyond. As we openly share with everyone, a team member will never be let go due to lack of performance alone. We know that everyone can have bad months and it is our most inner drive to support our team members to get back on track. Another great part of the Hear.com opportunity is the option for reduced cost medical insurance as well as unlimited vacation granted after the first 90 days. Not to mention the family events outside of work. Everyone can enjoy a simple 5 day, 40-hour work week to allow that important time to recharge with our families. We are sorry that you felt that our team size decreased, in fact, we are more people in the sales team than ever before. When reading through the mentioned waiver, you will have realized that it is with regards to the consumption of alcoholic beverages within our facilities or at our events. Also, we are covered by a very good workers comp plan, so we don’t know where the misunderstandings are coming from. While we are striving to improve things for every team member within the hear.com family, we hope that you will find what you are looking for and wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

I really enjoy my role as a HIS here. You’re not just doing basic check-ins with customers; I’m doing the full scope of the job—hearing evaluations, fittings, fine-tunings, and follow-ups—all through telehealth. The technology we use is smooth, which makes it much easier to focus on the customer rather than the software. The company culture is great, too. It’s a very forward-thinking environment and doesn’t feel like a traditional, rigid clinic. It’s been rewarding to see how much we can actually accomplish for people’s hearing without them needing to leave their house. If you're into the innovative side of audiology, you'll definitely appreciate the way hear.com does things.

Cons

Since it’s all remote, you definitely spend a lot of time in front of a camera. You also have to be patient with customers who aren't super tech-savvy—sometimes you’re helping with WiFi or tech setup before you can get to the actual appointment.

Pros

Yearly summit parties in Miami. SOME good commission months. WFH if you're not in Denver or Miami. 75k your first year is to be expected. Year 2+ is pretty consistently around 90k-100k.

Cons

During my time at Hear.com, the sales team underwent THREE pay cuts. They used to pay $4,800 dollars in commission for 18 net hearing aid sales. As of now, that would only be around $400 in commission. Be prepared to physically speak on the phone for 5.5 hours per day. If you do not hit this metric every single day, the next day, they WILL punish you by having you talk to an AI bot for HOURS, repeating the same lines over and over again.
