Dysfunctional Company - Response Technician onShore Security Employee Review

Pros

The only pro that I can think of is that it is easy to get hired as a response technician.

Cons

I did not spend much time at onshore networks but I did get a chance to observe a few things. 1. Low pay for the tech industry. I was shocked to find out that techs that had been working there for over 3 years were not making more than what a McDonalds employee might get if the minimum wage was raised to what they have been talking about. 2.The manager of the team I was on routinely used profanity at not only people under him but to other managers and my coworkers said that he even used it towards executives above him in rank. 3. Absolutely no training. New employees are thrown out into the wild and have to fend for themselves. 4. Low morale at the company. People I talked to when my shift began and ended routinely talked about leaving the company and some of the discussions were very depressing.

Pros

- Brilliant and driven, yet fun people who are passionate about security and IT. - Exciting products/tech. - Fairly strong documentation, allowing some roles to hit the ground running. - Lots of encouragement to experiment and learn. - Mid and upper level management make an earnest effort to regularly reach out for feedback.

Cons

- My chair makes my back hurt. - Kind of a drab office with little natural light. - Ownership of devices is a bit strange (I had to sign a contract saying I'd pay to replace my laptop if it breaks).

Pros

The engineers and analysts are good people. Open source tools

Cons

Bad C level management. The CEO, CTO and CFO have all been there for over 20 years. They don't value their analysts and engineers. The CEO does not believe in market level compensation. A 45k offer for a Security Analyst is pathetic!
