Pros
- Very flat hierarchy. You can talk to the founders and the CTO anytime you like.
- Great place to learn about new technologies and try out new things. You have a good idea? You fancy implementing it? Then you can go for it.
- Technical challenges are interesting and include a variety of different domains from performance, security, data privacy, data warehouse, file parsing etc. to all sorts of UI/UX and frontend related tasks.
- Rest of the team is genuinly helpful and fun to be working with
- Remote first, very flexible work schedule, 27 days of holidays (above average in UK)
- Get the equipment you need to work (Macbook, Linux or Windows notebook, desk & chair, headset etc.)
- No limited budget for training courses or conferences. If you see something that is interesting to you and would benefit you in becoming a better Software Developer then you can just book it.
Cons
- Growing pains, parcelLab is scaling up quite fast in terms of customers and employees, which can cause some hiccups in certain workflows while scaling up and defining new processes (seems to be a common issue with start-ups at this stage though)
