I have been working at Encore Wire full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a pretty easy job to get used to especially if you have good people training you. Good pay for the little work you actually do even though some days will be harder than others. A lot of hours.

    Cons

Depending on the plant you may work everyday of the week with not many days off given. All you have to do is ask though and most of the time they'll give it to you. Seniority is higher on the list than actual skill and being a hard worker.

I have been working at Encore Wire full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are no pros to working for this company beyond a steady pay check.

    Cons

No future. Poor Leadership poor compensation. No value placed in hard working intelligent people. Nepotism. Etc.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. Sooner or later your stocks will nose dive and another larger corporation will buy you out and fire all the management. This may end up being a good thing for your employees.

Very christian values. An on site nurse to see your primary medical complaints.

    Cons

If you don't belong to the cult of Prosper Texas, you'll never get ahead.

    Pros

Plenty of overtime because of terrible management especially in Distribution

    Cons

Cronyism at its best !!! People in management that don't have a clue. Kiss that rear end,
     promotion.

    Advice to Management

Upper Management is the problem. How many VP's do you need.Land of misfits.

I have been working at Encore Wire full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Competitive pay, plenty of hours, easy work, convenient location if you live in the northern suburbs of DFW, fairly low turnover, no layoffs, growing company.

    Cons

An almost total lack of communication between management and the masses. Poor communication between shifts. Promotion is more of a popularity contest than being about your skills, experience and productivity. Senior management is stuck up. Work direction changes constantly. Leadership spoon feeds employees like they are idiots that need to be baby sat.

    Advice to Management

Get off your high horse. The workforce is compelled to bow down to senior management as if they are royalty. In the grand scheme of things, this isn't a big operation. You're not Steve Jobs!

    Pros

Maybe the clinic and chaplain services. That's the only 2 areas that seem to show any ounce of caring or have any concern about your well being.

    Cons

Upper management has no clue what they are doing. They incapsulate many departments with a so called VP that doesn't know how to facilitate their own department and feel that this is acceptable.

    Advice to Management

Doesn't matter what the managers think. It's all about 3-4 people in upper management think that maintain a say in what happens from day to day.

I have been working at Encore Wire full-time

    Pros

As bad as I try, can't honestly give one.

    Cons

Too long a list for this space, but a few of note are; Management out of touch, which is not that uncommon amongst larger corporations. The problem here is they have no clue what's going on due to lack of experience. BIG PROBLEM. Employee morale is at rock bottom, due to arrogant management that has no experience. This place is a perfect storm waiting to happen.

    Advice to Management

    Who cares, they don't.
