I have been working at FedEx Custom Critical full-time

    Pros

Nice to have health insurance that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Decent culture.

    Cons

Pay starts at 11.50, and even as a top performer will take a decade to double that. Expect to work nights and weekends.

I worked at FedEx Custom Critical full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great coworkers. Fun, casual environment.

    Cons

Vacation is given on a seniority basis and many employees have been there a long time so if you need the same day off as them, they will get priority over you. It's not really a con, it was just frustrating around holidays.

I have been working at FedEx Custom Critical full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great teamwork, friendly people and awesome building. PTO is good

    Cons

24/7 365 day a week- expect to work some holidays and weekends. Management communicates, but a lot seem to not talk among each other and lots of gray area

    Advice to Management

Follow through with projects, have all the particulars in place prior to a large change. More training and getting back to the basics.

I have been working at FedEx Custom Critical full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, 401K, and pension plan. Generous vacation time.

    Cons

Don't apply here unless you plan on working nights and weekends the rest of your career. The company has terrible management and because they can't hire and keep employees they force tenured employees to work nights and weekends. Management is planning to do rebids annually which means you are assigned a shift not based on your hard work or experience, but based on your seniority in your team. Because they pay management so poorly, most of the facilitators are uneducated and have no professional experience outside of Custom Critical. People are promoted to satisfy affirmative action requirements.

    Advice to Management

Quit trying to reinvent the wheel. Stop trying to fix what is not broken. Take a good look at your leadership staff in Operations. Ask yourself are they qualified to be in those positions - if so why is the company falling apart? Promote hard working employees - and pay them more. Stop turning peoples lives upside down and changing their shifts dramatically on them - how would that feel if it happened to you? This company is a mess right now.

    Positive Outlook

    Pros

great benefits package -pension and a 401K, opportunity to move within the family of companies. a premium brand with a solid selling platform.

    Cons

Coming from a true freight brokerage operations the segmented operations will be challenging. If you are a remote (virtual) the disconnection will be apparent. The need for additional in depth training on product knowledge/service offerings

    Advice to Management

Allow flexibility for true brokerage professionals to grow by increasing the grace period from 6 months to one year. I believe this will greatly increase the chances for new sales account managers.
