I worked at Felix full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A year ago I wasn't looking for a sales role. However, working at Felix as a Sales Associate has been a great experience for my professional development.

Sales is a very demanding field. Every day you are presented with new challenges, you'll have to be flexible and willing to put in the work. There are no short-cuts in sales.

    - The skills you develop at this job are invaluable and can be utilized in any field.

    - The commission plan gives you an opportunity to make good money.

    - You are surrounded by hard working people, in a company that's growing exponentially. Plus, beer Fridays are fun.

    Cons

    - It is not an easy job,
    - Overcoming rejection is a major part of the job.
    - There's a learning curve. It takes time to get good at the job.

    Advice to Management

The new classes/courses have been truly helpful.
    Lets get it!

    I worked at Felix full-time

    Pros

    Meals provided, thats about it.

    Cons

The job is high pressure, stressful, monotonous, the classic cold calling sales job. The highs are high, but the lows are often and very very low. The manager introduced a policy that if you dont make 3 sales in a 2 week span then youre fired, luckily I was able to get a new job the next week. I dont blame the management, its just the nature of the job, and to their credit they try to make that clear in the interview process. Its a good way to get you out of the house and some relevant experience when youre just out of school, but after a month or so you'll find that the hardest thing to do every day is make that first call of the day knowing that 100+ more calls of rejection and pressure will follow. Dont be surprised if you havent made a call in about 6 minutes to get pinged by the management asking why youre not dialing. Again, classic entry sales job that will give you a little money, if you sell a lot then the commission does have good potential but thats often easier said than done, and hopefully you'll be able to spin your experience to being relevant towards whatever job you actually want.

    Advice to Management

The training period is a 7 week span where you must get 4 sales, and the practice of raising your hand so the manager will just jump on the phone and you repeat everything they say doesnt actually teach or train well, but if youre lucky it will get you to the 4th sale and free meals.

I worked at Felix full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-They offer the position to at minimum 99% of applicants, don't know if this belongs in the "pros" category though and it really reflects when trying to achieve team goals. So congrats I guess?
-Strictly an easy job to land out of school to get yourself started in a business environment with no experience, though you can loosely use that term to describe the actual environment
-Sales managers are accessible for help

    Cons

-Don't get fooled by management's sales pitch why you should work for them, this is a call farm. You'll cold call 100-150 medical businesses per day. "On goal" is 2 or 3 sales per week but keep in mind that is out of 500-700 calls so be ready for a ton of rejection and dealing with horrible people over the phone
-Product you're trying to sell has abysmal reviews online and something you have to address on a daily basis and often lose sales. Extremely hard to sell something that is difficult to believe in yourself and 99% of these people don't actually need to advertise their companies
-The true commission scale and "on-track-earnings" are nowhere near as close to what is advertised upon applying. You're told on track is $60k at year's end with commission but that's just a lie because they want more bodies on the phone making more calls
-Advancement? Good luck. Too much turnover to keep track of
-Hollow management. Company meetings where CEO and everyone say how much they care about everyone individually but like any job they could care less about you. Again, you are just another body on the phones

    Advice to Management

-Stop taking advantage of kids fresh out of college by glorifying the position and encouraging them to make a decision that may not be the best fit for them just so the company can have more bodies making more calls.
-Be honest to applicants about the job - i.e. money, the actual job you are doing. What I was told about the job and compensation expectations were nothing like what they tell you over the first week of training and by then you are stuck for the time being
-The only true benefit they offered was free lunch and dinner, which was nice but think about it - is that really going to be THE selling point that leads you to choose to begin this career path? There are certainly better offers out there

    I worked at Felix full-time

    Pros

Great management, fed 3 meals a day, inclusive of company growth and goals

    Cons

    I left my putter there

    Advice to Management

Great experience and will be forever thankful of how I was treated and managed. Mike, Olga, JT, Dan and the rest of management have created a great working environment. Management was always transparent about the overall outlook of the company and they were very inclusive when sharing updates. Also, offering three meals a day to employees is beyond generous and shows the company's attitude towards their employees (miss this so much).

I worked at Felix full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Coworkers: they're driven, young, and fun to work with. Everyone has a great sense of humor and are very friendly. There is no alienating and there are plenty of company team building exercises/events (happy hours too) that happen often. Nobody is ever afraid to ask for advice, and vice versa. These are some of the best coworkers I've had at any job. It doesn't matter who's the director, manager, or associate level employee - everyone gets along and talks to each other. Eventually you work with friends.

    - Benefits: Good sick leave/vacation policy. You are expected to get your work done, on time, and in a professional fashion. You don't need to give a billion reasons why you're going on vacation or need a day off. You just need to tell them ahead of time, and not let it affect your work. If you're sick, they're always understanding. Standard 401K, Commuter Benefits, Health Insurance Coverage (Aetna). Also, your breakfast, lunch, and dinner are covered by the company. Drinks are free in the kitchen.

    - Office/Work Environment: beautiful office. No longer is the office in Times Sq. and shared, but Felix now has their own office in Chelsea with an open, clean, and trendy decor. The work chairs are comfy and you can have a standing desk if you need one. The computers are up to date and there's a clean kitchen to use whenever you need it. The middle area has comfortable sofas, coffee tables, and some books to read.

    - Management: COO & GM are both very genuine people, who obviously care about the company and future growth/opportunities. They are always open to suggestions from the teams that work here, and you actually see the results of the suggestions the employees make. They are also always looking for ways to make the work environment better for employees, whether it be suggesting company events, office improvements, etc.

    - Opportunities: You learn everyday you're in this company. It's a small company and hard work is rewarded. In my short time at Felix, I saw 2 people promoted. It means everyone's got a fair shot and is always merit based. No favoritism.

    - This job is the best fit for new graduates. If you just graduated, don't pass on an opportunity at Felix. You'll learn and have some of the best weekdays you've ever had.

    Cons

    - Compensation: lower than average

    Advice to Management

Management already does a great job. This is especially true and a shout out to Heather, Brad, Steve, Mike, Lydia, Dan, Bryan, Cecilia, Kara, Soonthorn, JT, Tiana, and Jill. They all work hard to make Felix a great place for everyone.

The only part to improve on is the compensation. Yes, the company provides some of the best benefits (food, sick/vacation days), but compensation pays rent and bills. It's hard for employees to live & work in NYC with a lower compensation. If Felix was able to keep the same benefits & compensation was higher, there wouldn't be a reason for employees to leave.

    Pros

Cool work environment, young staff, fun perks, happy hours, good opportunity to work alongside fun, young interesting people.

    Cons

Inside sales job. Very monotonous, soul sucking, boring and relatively fruitless job. A good place to start in sales because of the benefits, but it is a pretty miserable existence.

    Advice to Management

There isn't really a ton of advice to give. Management does the best they can with trying to make a boring cold calling job interesting. The nature of the job itself is just brutal.
