Pros

Nice Baltimore office. No other pro - can't even say I liked the people that much.

Cons

Significant leadership and management issues - Poor and inexperienced leaders. Still running a large organization like we were a small start up back in the day when I started. Leaders more concerned with making people happy - promises not kept or followed through. Seems to be a boys club from Baltimore and if not in it you are not respected. Appears favorites are always promoted. Systems and tools are terrible. Integration with Omnicom is a nightmare.

Pros

Flywheel used to be a "tech start up family", we were scrappy, everyone wore multiple hats, but we were all in this together. The workload was lot but I valued the opportunity to do so many things like implementing new processes to pioneering new programs. ERGs were active, events were lit, we had a personal investment in seeing the company succeed! Those who preferred to be in the office did so and those who needed the flexibility to work from home did so. I did early mornings and pulled late nights because I believed in Flywheel and truly believed that I was valued as a person and not just employee.

Cons

Omnicom. Flywheel got bought by omnicom and there has been a major shift in culture. Mass layoffs, jon instability, return to office. All those people that were in the weeds working alongside you? Gone. Pride, Black in Business, DEI, Latinx...all the ERGs are silent. No one has the emotional energy to devote to this company anymore. And why would we? We are now just numbers. Everyone is replaceable. Even though all those changes, I stuck it out. But now I'm being told I need to sacrifice time away from my kids to return to the office after being hired in remote, after giving everything I had to this company. Expect inconsistency,.lack of processes, lack of care, is there anyone that not white on the executive team? Flywheel is now just another company. The values that set it apart are gone.

Flywheel Digital Response

Thank you for your thoughtful and candid feedback. We appreciate your dedication and the contributions you've made to Flywheel Digital over the years. It's clear that you were deeply invested in our mission and culture, and we're grateful for that. You've highlighted how the transition to becoming part of Omnicom has brought significant changes, particularly in terms of culture, employee engagement, and flexibility. These are important issues, and while change can often be challenging, we're actively working to navigate this new chapter in a way that aligns with both our legacy and the broader opportunities that come with being part of a larger organization. We understand the shift in culture, especially around ERGs, has been challenging. To ensure our workplace remains inclusive and our DEI initiatives thrive, we've appointed Kirya Frances as Chief Diversity Officer for the Flywheel Commerce Network. Kirya will lead our strategic diversity efforts, enhance data transparency, and strengthen our connection with Omnicom's larger DEI initiatives. The sense of instability and the impact of layoffs are issues we take seriously. We recognize the importance of job security and clear communication, and we are focused on improving these areas as we continue to evolve. As we move forward, your feedback will be instrumental in helping us address these challenges and aim to make Flywheel a place where everyone can continue to feel proud to contribute. While some aspects of our environment may have changed, we can assure you that our commitment to our employees and our core values remains strong. Thank you again for sharing your perspective and for your continued efforts at Flywheel.
