    Pros

    Good benefits, 2 weeks vacation

    Cons

Little pay, Forced overtime, Management treats you as if you are stupid, and actually prefers you that way. Career employees more worried about their own jobs than accomplishing goals. A culture of pointing fingers and CYA. NO raises given to production employees unless they are on the bottom of the scale.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating your employees like cattle. Get rid of your 20 year accumulation of middle managers who do nothing to advance the companies agenda.

I worked at Grede full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This is a leading global manufacturing firm based out of Michigan with a small town presence in Montgomery County, NC. The leadership is hands on and they value their employees.

    Cons

It is a small town (con) but Asheboro is not far away and the commute is short. There are not many places close by to run out to grab lunch but otherwise it is a great company.

    Advice to Management

Continue to ask for employee suggestions and feedback for a better workplace experience.

I have been working at Grede full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy work if you pay attention to detail and don't mind getting wet. Weekly pay. They do have health benefits.

    Cons

Very poor pay for work performed. Health benefits are high for your out of pocket deductible. Must work Saturdays and Sunday when management tells you. As I said you MUST! Upper management have no consideration for the lower workers other obligations to their families and home life.

    Pros

friendly management pay is good work is rewarding. It is a short distance drive from my home. They also have good benefits like holidays , insurance, vacation etc.

    Cons

The work is hard physical labor in a very dirty environment. You have to be able to get your hands dirty and not be afraird to work.

    Advice to Management

    keep the place open.

I worked at Grede (More than a year)

    Pros

The only good thing about working there is the fact that you actually have a job. It is better than collecting unemployment.

    Cons

Long 10-12+ hour days, standing all day in the same spot, chairs are not allowed, in the winter it is 47 degrees in there, in the summer it is 120. The air is constantly full of dust and chemicals and no one is ever offered a breathing mask. The place smells really bad. The management are bullies, threatening to fire you if you don't work 7 days a week. You get laid off about 3 times a year.

    Advice to Management

Treat the people that keep the place running with more respect. We are all only human and are there for the same reason, to pay our own bills and survive.
