For the record you are not a current employee at JohnstonGreer, that is false, and this has been reported to Glassdoor. I also doubt your claim to have worked here “1-2 years” given your poor grammar and punctuation. Nevertheless, thank you for your review. We do pride ourselves on the training we offer, structured and bespoke it offers new starts a fantastic foundation and then is ongoing throughout an individual’s time with us. Our salary is fair, bonus potential excellent and the career progression experienced by those good at recruitment has literally changed their life. I’m glad you agree. Since formation in 2006 we have seen many members of the team become (and remain) top recruiters in our sector, and the firm continues to have positive and productive relationships with many of our recruits now working at other firms. Recently one of our early team members (2007 to 2012) told us that having now worked at another couple of companies he felt that JohnstonGreer had been the best place he had worked. Recruitment is a very tough career choice, it requires a resilience, intelligence and toughness that surprises many people when they embark on that route. It doesn’t work out for many and sad to hear that was the case with yourself. We benefit from a positive and supportive management style which stands up for the team when necessary, offers work and personal assistance as required and can always be relied on to provide knowledge and coaching. Equally when individuals have demonstrated unacceptable behaviours (for example lack of work ethic or not participating with team) then management response will always be robust, resolute, and fair. It is also important in a small team that everyone else can observe management that acts and is strong when dealing with these situations. Initially based in Glasgow we had 100% staff retention for many years with those team members staying with the business for between 4 and 7 years. Following the Great Recession and a rebuild in Edinburgh our longest serving employees were with the business for typically 4 years. In the context of our industry our recruiters stay for a long time. Chris Johnston, Managing Director
