Great Company but Poor Management
Feb 20, 2021 - Project Manager in Boston, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
You will feel like you're part of a family. Nice in-office perks (pre covid). Small office environment. Accommodating to personal schedules. Decent amount of support to get projects done and a strong rule that projects do not commence until scope and requirements are clear. This saves a lot of time and headaches and is something not a lot of other translation companies adhere to. There are also dedicated sets of teams that help move projects along. Well-rounded training.
Cons
Immature Operations Management: One can be insulted and isolated at the drop of a hat by the operations management team. Accusatory attitudes when not aware of the full scope of situations were abundant. Immature attitudes of supposed "leaders" soured years of a working relationship. Not set up with the proper tools to handle high-level, demanding software localization projects. Those projects sometimes felt like a "fake it until you make it" scenario as a PM. Favoritism. If you stick on your manager's side, you're bound to have a better time at the company rather than if you speak your mind respectfully. More team support is needed on the PM front. The management structure makes little sense. Too many managers per person- a waste of excellent PM resources. Micromanagement.

Pros
One thing i liked right away was the size of the office. Not too big, get a chance to know everyone by name. Love the activities in the office (never know when you'll find a spread of food in the kitchen area) Everyone is willing to help however they can and you get a get sense of team work from working here. The atmosphere and the people are easy-going.
Cons
The commute can be a little annoying due to traffic Office can sometimes be very quiet

Awesome company that truly cares about each and every employee. They put people way ahead of bottom line. Fun in office events. Tremendous focus on Quality. Will walk away from business ahead of following a risky process just to please a customer. Treats their vendors tremendously. Truly values the talent that they bring to their clients
