Pros

Free lunch, flex hours, I was able to bring my dog (who even dreaded going there)

Cons

No upper management and any suggestion or idea was immediately shot down, then 3 months would go by and the CEO would pitch the same ideas and suggestions which of course were greeted with open arms. No HR department, or actually "HR" is run by the CEO's wife (who goes by a separate last name) 8 hour days are considered 'McDonalds Hours" and employees are expected to do 10 or more hours (with no break I might add) Performance reviews are based solely on a calculated percentage which is completely egregious and does not account for time spent trying to do other peoples jobs. In these reviews it is almost impossible for a salary increase.

Pros

There is a on-site gym, squash courts are available for employees to use, daily catered lunches, easy commute from anywhere around the Hudson Valley, pets allowed in the office

Cons

Job description/title is not what you expect, lower than average salaries for the nature of the industry and the title of their workers, working hours are not flexible at all, upper management does not care about employees' opinions

Pros

Short commute. Nice location in the mountains of the Hudson Valley in New York State. Complimentary lunch served daily. Other perks were nice, including weight room, pool tables and squash court. One or two co-workers were very nice.

Cons

Cold and morgue-like atmosphere. About 75 technology pros who do not interact or even speak in the office. I'm sure they are where they belong and prefer this type of work environment. It was not for me. I was hired as an executive, VP in fact, and placed in a cold, quiet office, at a glass desk, alone. There was no training of any kind. No guidance or indication of what was expected. The occasional, rushed, lunchtime meeting with mgt. were unproductive and centered on the CEOs visions and philosophies. After a few weeks, I took some initiative and began to critique the product I was hired to sell. The first fixes were welcomed and the next were met with disgust. I had crossed a line that I didn't know existed. So, I asked for access to the designers/programmers of the product I was to eventually market. I had hoped to learn from them since management had left me to my own devices. Access was denied, leaving me to wonder what the hell I was doing there in the first place. My overall experience was more or less degrading. To this day, I'm not sure what they were looking to accomplish by hiring me. I couldn't get out of there fast enough.
