Atmosphere changed once company sold to bigger company. Please consider the employees before making changes. Bigger isn't ways better.

    I worked at MPRI full-time

    Pros

Location, benefits, parking, access to public transportation. Significant influence by former military/army type folks that made the place operate more like the military than a business.

    Cons

Leadership was not bad, although business acumen was often lacking. Senior leaders were note career business people, so decisions were made that were not always the most effective. Environment was not conducive to advancement for those with little or no military experience.

    Advice to Management

Diversify thought and experience, bring in more business-oriented people to balance the perspectives and decision making. Bring in more younger people.

The atmosphere and the corporate climate

I worked at MPRI full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company aloud you to make decisions, and helped you to develop the needed relationship with the customer.

    Cons

    It was an overseas contract.

    Advice to Management

They should frequent the work sites more often.

I worked at MPRI full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

disconnect of home office with site.

    Cons

Will cut benifits to win a Contract, then losse top Technical in spite of needing them. Loss of Contract, and no thought of transfer employees to other work site.

    Advice to Management

Know the difference between instructors and IT, vast difference.

I worked at MPRI full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some of the management was good.

    Cons

Undervalued IT / technology employees and what they brought to the table. Mostly a follow-on employer for prior service security types.

    Advice to Management

Be outward looking - pay attention to the industry type you're supposed to be providing the customer. Don't be a meat market.

I worked at MPRI full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Ability to train future leaders. Not a cubicle job. Ability to work with other current and former Officers and Senior NCOs.

    Cons

Long hours are expected without additional pay. Military job without the military benefits. When CommTek, who had the contract before MPRI, lost the contract, MPRI slashed all salaries overnight. I lost $12,000/year. I know of others who lost more. Their response - if you don't like it, then leave. Great attitude (insert sarcasm here).
