Great firm that promotes attorneys based on performance rather than experience

May 16, 2023 - Partner in Las Vegas, NV

    Pros

Great leadership. Messner Reeves is a meritocracy. They promote attorneys based on their performance, not just their experience. Fantastic place to work for good attorneys willing to put in the work.

    Cons

I wouldn't call it a "con," but Messner Reeves definitely expects its attorneys and employees to work hard, but if you work hard and earn trust, they'll be great to you.

The firm has grown quickly and feels more Big Law than start-up at times.

    Amazing Company Culture

    Pros

This is one of the best working experience I've ever had. The attorneys are nice, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is generally upbeat. Full benefits, flexible hours for some employees, free lunch two days out of the week, paid holidays, and an emphasis on work-life balance makes this place unique in today's challenging job market.

    Cons

There are times it can be chaotic. Also, parking.

    Pros

Freedom to run your cases and grow your practice as you see fit with no red tape or bureaucracy to deal with. The new leadership is much more focued on their people than in the past.

    Cons

Could focus more on communication between offices - but that is admittedly getting a lot better.
