I worked at Mt Prospect Park District part-time

    Pros

This job has a very positive atmosphere. Coworkers were all friendly. Flexible hours for part time.

    Cons

Pay could have been better but still couple dollars over minimum wage. Good for high school / college students needing just a part time job.

    Pros

Awesome summer job. Great for High school and early college. They hire those with a moderate swim background.

    Cons

Sometimes scheduling is made more difficult on people because of limited staff. Usually they have day off requests before summer starts. It is also find your own substitutes, but by having a smaller staff will make it harder to have.

    Advice to Management

Work on communication with managers. There are often times were the same things are being told differently by directors, and makes it hard to know who to listen to.

    Pros

Great summer job, worked here out of high school until I was a junior in college. There's a lot of opportunity to move up the ladder to management.

    Cons

I can't think of any, just do your job right and ask questions when you have them.

    Advice to Management

    Great job.

I worked at Mt Prospect Park District part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A great gig for high school and college students. About 20 hours a week, plus downtime to do home work (as a building supervisor).

    Cons

Managers are good, but upper management is awful. The people who sit in back offices all day are very disconnected from the front lines and don't care much about the part time staff. A very political organization once you get into the senior full-time ranks.

    Advice to Management

Reward individuals who have the credibility and work ethic. Don't take advantage of your standing to unfairly benefit your own personal agenda.

I have been working at Mt Prospect Park District part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Made a lot of friends with a friendly but hard working atmosphere. Our ability to lifeguard and ensure the safety of swimmers was upheld to a high standard. Overall good people (generally high school and college students). Can teach leadership skills

    Cons

Can be demanding, low starting salary at minimum wage

    Advice to Management

    Increase pay
