Pros

If you asked me this at the turn of the year, I could list Pros that would have you desperate for job at Native Commerce. It really was a wonderful place to work with a creative, highly skilled team that worked well together. Unfortunately that has all gone due to some of the worst business decisions I've ever witnessed and thanks to one of the most unbelievably poor CEOs I've ever had the mispleasure to work under. Her saving grace was thanks to the support of an advisor and board member who was blindly loyal to her and couldn't see her slowly destroy the company.

Cons

Well, thanks to the above mentioned CEO, most of the staff who could have saved the company were let go, laid off or forced out. The sole reason was due to the CEO never acting on their ideas or never taking any advice from them on company growth. This would reflect badly on their performance. We lost some of the most talented people I've ever worked with due to her sheer arrogance and awful way she'd play them off each other. She would pride herself on not reading emails if they were too long and insist you send short bullet points if you wanted them written. This is the CEO of a million dollar compnay...not reading emails. We lost an editorial director who changed the face of the department and was highly respected by his team, a business director who could have done her job with his eyes closed, some awesome Brand managers and marketers and a batch of super talented copywriters all due to her horrible style of management and favoritism which ultimately leading to the loss of revenue. FINALLY: You'll notice the positive reviews of Native Commerce posted on May 5th. They are all fake. The CEO had the staff, including me, write them due to some much negative online feedback from clients and staff. You have been warned!

AVOID... at all costs.

Pros

There's a really cute french bulldog that meanders around the office.

Cons

I feel it my civic duty to warn the marketing professionals of Austin to avoid this company at all costs. NC is the prime example of horrible, horrible management. This company is (was) filled with enthusiastic, capable, and talented individuals who were mere puppets in a company run by scam artists who only care about making money. Employees are stretched too thin because any idea that pops into the founder's head MUST be executed right away, and if it doesn't work within a month, it will be completely forgotten about and your position will most likely change. It's no surprise nearly 40% of the company was laid off and all top positions demoted.

Pros

You'll learn a ton if you're willing to work hard and make yourself useful. The office is pretty nice and the people are really great with rare exceptions in the leadership.

Cons

There's a lack of professionalism that can seem fun at the start but in reality it lends itself to some pretty bad situations. I concur with the cons in the majority of the other reviews. The long term viability of this company is also uncertain.
