I worked at NetProspex full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The leadership team really cares about employees and fights to do what is right for the people. This is a place where you could become an A-player while still having so much fun during the day. Many of the people felt like family.

    Cons

No gym onsite, but there are running trails nearby and a shower. Other than that, such a killer place to work.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

    Pros

Great People, Good product, Telecommuting available

    Cons

For a company that sells email addresses......their lead generation capabilities are non-existent
    Highly commoditized market
If you are stuck with an inexperienced Business Development Rep.....you are out of luck
As a seasoned sales rep (15 years), prepare to make 60 phone + cold calls a day
E-mail marketing was for nurturing campaigns only...not for lead generation

    Advice to Management

Use your own product and start doing lead generation
Distribute leads evenly....not to veterans only

    I worked at NetProspex full-time

    Pros

Probably the most open and approachable senior management staff at any company I have been at. Everyone from the CEO to the CMO and Sales Leadership will always have their door open to you to discuss how to best win a deal. In particular, CEO Michael Bird truly stood out to me, as he would engage you in a conversation not only about NetProspex, but also about life and have a lengthy discussion with you. Granted, his time now is more limited since the D&B acquisition, but he would sincerely make you feel welcomed and was appreciative of the work that you did. Great guy who leads a great senior management team!

    Cons

Culture on the Sales Floor is the big negative here. As one reviewer had put it a few posts ago, it is a very in or our crowd. Reps will openly ignore you if you are not "in" their circle. Even when it comes time to trivial things such as grabbing a drink after work, they will openly make plans in front you and not extend an invitation. The majority of the team are smokers as well, as it is not a common sight to see 10 people outside chain smoking cigarettes. There are also those who don't smoke that dip right at their desk and spit tobacco into red solo cups, even leaving them at the desk for the cleaning crew to pick up. Furthermore, the Business Casual dress code puts a heavy focus on the word casual. Flip flops, shorts, hats, and t-shirts are very common, as it makes you feel like you are not truly at work and rather in someone's living room. This lax policy of dress reduces the sense of urgency to do your job on the floor.

    Advice to Management

Senior Management should definitely keep up what they are doing, as professionally and personally, they are a great group of people. The only advice would be to crack down on the culture. Tighten up the dress code and above all, get people to stop dipping at their desks, as it can create an unprofessional environment.

    I worked at NetProspex full-time

    Pros

Fun work hard, play hard environment, great CEO, free snacks, bagel friday and periodic lunches, everyone working together on company objectives, employees rewarded for hard work and meeting their goals,

    Cons

Lots of changes first as a growing startup and then with the D&B acquisition which prompted high turnover and a tough selling environment for many. Also, this is a very competitive space per the product offering and they could think about new ways to generate more demand.

    Advice to Management

The CEO is a great guy and it is nice that he is always transparent with the team regarding the company roadmap and plans.

    Pros

Ability to move fast despite no longer being independent. Enjoyment and innovation are high on daily schedule. Management allows some grassroots when the ROI is worth it. Inter-team collaboration feels fluid.

    Cons

Tech debt does limit some innovation, though it is not insurmountable. Getting involved with the tech community, aside from tech fests, would foster additional support for the "troops" to learn and apply great things.

    Pros

There is nowhere else you can learn and advance through the ranks as quickly as NetProspex. The management is flexible and works tirelessly to help you succeed.

The hours are not outrageous, plenty of vacation as well, and you can make a lot of money there.

    Cons

Due to the recent acquisition, there is a lot in flux.

The ramp is pretty steep - you need to be really ready to hit the ground running, and it can be challenging for new reps to onboard.

    Advice to Management

A better training and ramp program would definitely be helpful for new reps. The attention paid to employee growth is much appreciated and makes NetProspex stand out as an exceptional company.
